The need and importance of education
was noted by Thomas Jefferson, who became the third president of the
United States. In a letter on
August 13, 1786, to George
Wythe, a friend and a cosigner of the Declaration of Independence,
Jefferson wrote: “I think by far the most important
bill in our whole code is that for the diffusion of knowledge among the people.
No other sure foundation can be devised, for the preservation of freedom and
happiness. . . . Preach, my dear sir, a crusade against ignorance; establish and
improve the law for educating the common people.”
Most
recently, President Bush vowed to make educating every
child his number-one domestic priority and reform a system that - despite nearly
$321 billion in federal funding since 1965, has failed the
neediest in our nation's classrooms.
Kids Universe, Inc. (KUI), a
501(c)3 non-profit public charitable organization, share the same concern and
conviction as did Thomas Jefferson and President Bush.
The organization’s mission:
Kids Universe was created to help improve the quality of education for all
children and youth by effectively bridging the gap between the technology and
socio-economic divide.
KUI has developed and created
comprehensive programs that are designed to ensure that all children and youth
have a fair and equal opportunity to
receive
a quality education.
KUI's success depends on the support
and help
from caring corporate citizens and partners who are concerned about
having a well-trained and educated future workforce and by concerned parents and
students who want to help ensure that all youth in America have a fair and equal
opportunity to receive a quality "next generation" education.
